Job Summary:

This position will support LLUMC's strategic plan and the organization's mission to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, while embracing the core values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Wholeness. The Director-Clinical Informatics Operations liaises with Information Systems (IS) to ensure strategic alignment and integration of information technology related to clinical applications comprising the electronic medical record (EMR) and clinical operational applications used for business intelligence for Loma Linda University Health Enterprise and Community Connect Partners. Collaborates with the Chief Medical Information Officer(CMIO), Medical Informatics Liaison Officers (MILOs), and hospital clinical leadership to ensure the development, implementation and optimization of systems maximizes efficiencies and reimbursement opportunities in accordance with federal and state core measure criteria and other regulatory requirements. Serves as the Macro Process Owner (MPO) for clinical applications and performs expert analysis and collaboratively sets priorities for implementation and optimization projects. Performs other duties as needed.

Job Specifications:

Must be able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly and positively. Must have extensive knowledge of EMRs, healthcare regulations and accreditation, quality standards and patient safety. Basic knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, statistical principles, pay for reporting/ performance indicators and research required. Must have refined listening skills and be able to deal effectively with people and elicit support and consensus from others. Must be able to liaise between IT, CCPs, and clinical providers. Must be self-directed and meet time lines. Must have highly developed oral and written communication skills and utilize professional assessment skills to refer and communicate information. Must demonstrate a high degree of social skills in obtaining cooperation and support from a broad range of people and ability to work effectively with physicians, nursing, administrative, and ancillary staff. Must be able to team build; provide leadership; supervise; train and develop people in the realm of EMRs; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; analyze and interpret data and process flow; organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; think critically; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently; perform advanced math and statistical functions; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic eventreporting program; prioritize time-sensitive resolution of time sensitive issues and workload; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; exhibit professional dress and behavior at all times. Bachelor's Degree in nursing required or minimum 8years of

experience in lieu of degree. Master's or PhD degree in Nursing Informatics is preferred. Minimum

three years of experience in critical care, perioperative, or acute care nursing using EPIC EMR

required. Current California Registered Nurse License required. Certification in one EPIC clinical application preferred. Valid CA driver's license required at time of hire.
