We have an exciting opportunity for a Control Account Management Engineer (CAM) to join our Project Engineering team.


  • With the help of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), translate and decompose a Statement of Work (SOW) into discrete executable tasks with the appropriate granularity and performance metrics for the effective application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) practices.

  • Strong familiarity with EVMS techniques to establish tripwires and metrics as a means to aid the Program Manager in evaluating the health and status of the program, identifying any risks, or necessary corrective actions as needed.

  • Work closely with the technical community to query and confirm performance status on a regular basis, generate EV metrics, and, if warranted, work with the SMEs to generate Variance Assessment Reports (VARs) and corrective actions / recovery plans.

  • Represent the Program at Customer meetings and reviews including the Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) and subsequent Program Management Reviews (PMRs).

  • Work closely with the Program Team, consisting of Program Management, Finance, Scheduling, EV Compliance, and the Technical Community, throughout all stages of the Program lifecycle; Definition, Design, Manufacture & Integration, Test & Evaluation, Production and Sustainment.

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) and engineeringleads to provide cost estimates and rationale for engineering tasks (support for Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) development, Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, proposal efforts, etc.)

  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to convey status of program at technical and financial reviews

  • Must have the ability to track, coordinate and report on status of technical deliverables from interdivisional counterparts (ie. Electrical, mechanical, test, etc.), with comfort level for working in highly technical environment

  • Must be a self-starter, interest in learning the product/platform and perform duties with limited direction

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, mastersdegree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineeringexperience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a mastersdegree, or two or more years with a PhD.

  • May substitute equivalent engineeringexperience in lieu of education.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties. Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

  • Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas; capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and, lead a team of moderately experienced professional employees on single component projects.

  • Able to work extended hours as required.

  • A Professional Engineering License and original work published in professional engineering journals are desirable.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
