Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Director-Surgical Services assures the delivery of safe, quality and cost efficient care by competent staff members on designated department(s).  Insures efficient utilization of available resources and meets productivity and/or financial goals.  Meets customer satisfaction goals.

Works collaboratively and effectively with other administrative personnel, physicians, and staff from other areas throughout the Health System to enhance communication, share pertinent data, and improve processes across the continuum. Performs related duties as assigned.  Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Current RN licensure with Missouri Board of Nursing or current RN Missouri temporary work permit.
  • Five years experience in perioperative services.  Previous management/leadership experience is required.
  • Must have a current American Heart Association healthcare provider card or complete a course within their probation period.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Prefer management experience in perioperative services.
  • Prefer Perioperative related certification (i.e. CNOR, CAPA) preferred.
