Role Description: The quality engineer position would provide quality support to the Kevlar® pulp plant and 7-8contract manufacturers in North America who produce raw ingredients for the Spruance plant.
The role of quality engineer ensures the quality requirements for theISO-9001 andotherquality standards are implemented and maintained at the plant and atcontract manufacturers. Identifies and performs corrective and preventative actions related to quality management system improvement, customer satisfaction, quality related aspects of supplier andcontract manufacturer relationship.
Establishes quality management system procedures and systems to anticipate quality failure modes and prevent quality incidents. Maintains customer and product specifications management. Analyzes property data and assesses the capability to meet customer specifications, as well as following up on requirements that cannot be met. Monitors product properties and control and disposition of non-standard production.
Reports the performance of the quality management system and any needs for improvement. Coordinates customer complaintinvestigations and responses to customer or marketing /sales requests relating to quality information or issues. Assists in thequalification of newcontractmanufacturer and supporting quality documents.

Demonstrated ability to understand, calculate, establish, and communicate key quality metrics including complaints, complaint frequency, cycle time, audit results, and reduction of quality restricted inventory.
Demonstrated experience and results in auditing, carrying out root cause failure analysis and identify and drive closure on critical corrective and preventive actions. Demonstrated understanding and experience in data analysis and its application to improve manufacturing process capability.
Demonstrated capability of building a business case to achieve area goals and effectively enrolling constituents. Experience in process troubleshooting, operational quality SOP/SP knowledge, customer quality change management at the plant & contract manufacturers. Understanding of quality IT systems and tracking. Knowledge of the processes and flow in the operation as it relates to quality. Ability to present ideas in a clear, succinct, and compelling manner in both individual and group situations.
Delivers clear and succinct oral and written messages and is able to make complex messages clear both internally and to our customer. Preferred Skills: BS or Greater in Engineering preferred or greater than 7 years of demonstrated capability in problem solving, analysis and communication
