Technical Sales Engineer- Security Software
Travel: Some overnight travel throughout the region is required
Full-time, direct hire, permanent role
Compensation: $130-145k base plus realistic target that should add $35k- $50k more in bonuses at plan, full benefits.
We provide a suite of solutions that unify real-time, event and threat monitoring and solution into a single, role-based interface platform for cyberthreat and risk managers to evaluate, communicate and report needed information for effective decision making and systems management.
We are looking for a highly motivated, hands on, Technical Sales Engineer with Linux command line experience to work with production engineering AND research and development AND external security tools to determine how our products and services could be designed or modified to best suit customer needs. This position reports directly into the VP. This position will require regional travel ( midwest / Chicago / Minnesota / Wisconsin).
Provide pre-sales assistance for sales opportunities to customers.
Build deploy configure and troubleshoot required integrations as part of the customer evaluation process
Present platform use-cases and overviews to customers in face-to-face settings and online forums
Educate customers on the technical capabilities/features of the platform and research customer specific requirements to ensure alignment
Educate the customer on Threat best practices and methodology using the market leading analysis platform
Respond to requests for proposal and information in both oral and written formats
Act as an interface between the Sales organization and technical staff to resolve technical issues related to evaluations and/or customer requirements
Provide feedback on opportunities and field activities to Sales Product Management and Engineering
Understand the customer’s requirements and how to map those to the Threat Platform including identification of improvement areas in using Threat Intel to make better decisions.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree
5-10 years of experience directly relating to commercial sales engineering
Outstanding communication skills and ability to take on a consultative style when presenting ideas and products in written or verbal form.
Knowledge of specific customer service standards and procedures both domestic and international
Detailed knowledge of Security products
Ability to plan organize and implement a range of Security Scanners IT audits Compliance programs
Must be detail oriented and capable of accurate work with minimal supervision.
