This position requires that you are physically on-site and all work is to be performed in our Rensselaer, NY office.  Telecommuting is not allowed.  We not able to provide relocation assistance and you must be willing to relocate at your own expense. 

Job Responsibilities and Preferred Skills:

  • Develop, execute and maintain the detailed test plan, test procedures and test cases
  • Coordinate the testing cycle with the Business Analyst and Development Teams
  • Detail oriented, with strong follow-up skills to ensure completion of tasks (e.g. ability to track failed test cases and ensure that the technical resolution is completed and re-tested)
  • Experienceworking with Test Management tools like JIRA / HP Quality Center/ALM
  • Experience in manual functional, regression, Integration and end to end testing
  • Experienceworking with automation tools like QTP/Selenium
  • Experience in SOA technologies, SOA platforms
  • Experience with Web Services testing tools like SOAP UI

Secondary Preferred Skills:

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills to interact and present findings to team members, customers, management and support personnel
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Healthcare Industry knowledge a plus

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

Essential Job Functions

  • Leads and monitors progress of function test teams and their efforts for release candidates and the progress of outstanding defects during each phase of the development cycle.
  • Defines test cases, test matrices, configuration test questionnaires, and writes test scripts from business requirements documentation to confirm that systems meet business objectives.
  • Determines testing strategies and guides the work of less experienced team members.
  • Communicates the status of potential issues and outstanding problems to project and quality assurance personnel.
  • Performs quality control checks on software release candidates, determines final issue resolution status, and authorizes progression to next testing phase.
  • Compiles final project documentation and prepares it for client delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, engineering, management information systems, or computer science, or related field preferred
  • Six or more years of software testing and quality assurance experience
  • Experienceworking with project management methodology and related planning tools
  • Experience leading small- to mid-sized teams of testers, coordinating work against schedules and providing guidance and direction as needed
  • Experience working directly with clients, providing them with guidance and status, understanding their regulatory/validation requirements, and rendering prompt responses
  • Experienceworking with query, configuration management and defect tracking tools used throughout the testing team
  • Experienceworking with software product testing and applicable regulatory statutes

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS or equivalent + 9 yrs related experience, or MS + 7 yrs related experience
