Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Global vision for entire store.
  • Manages all back of house processes and functions to include, but not limited to receiving, reverse logistics, asset protection, and store maintenance.
  • Plans and implements all activities for acquiring and maintaining supplies, fixtures, services, tools, equipment, and all other materials required to support store operations.
  • Identifies training and development opportunities to execute strategy within department to meet Company training objectives and goals.
  • Manages entire evaluation and succession planning processes.
  • Enters Annual Evaluation information in PM and all succession planning plans in SP.
  • Identifies and mentors future leaders.
  • Develops subordinates skills and encourages professional growth.
  • Oversees workforce productivity and efficiency on a daily basis.
  • Implements change at the department and store level based on feedback provided by customers and associates as well as by assessing business needs.
  • Oversees projects and tasks through to completion.
  • Identifies when additional resources are needed and/or when the priority of tasks needs to be reassessed.
  • Holds associates accountable for performance on assignments.
  • Conveys messages that impact the department, store and Company to the team.
  • Evaluates messages to provide specific direction to team.
  • Aligns all operational objectives to Company goals and priorities.
  • Executes and ensures compliance to established sales, safety and security practices and procedures at the store level to ensure compliance to Company standards, local, state and federal regulations.
  • Oversees the execution of departmental organization and display of merchandise to Company standards.
  • Makes decisions on non compliance.
  • Ensures the completion of departmental zoning and adherence to department, store and Company standards.
  • Completes tasks as delegated by the Store Director in Playbook.
  • Follows up with Senior Team Lead, Team Lead and other hourly associate assignments.
  • Reports completion in Playbook and communicates completion to Store Director.
  • Makes all employment and operational decisions for department in conjunction with Lead on Duty responsibilities.
  • Actively participates in floor walks with Regional Vice President, District Manager, and Store Director.
  • Conducts floor walks.
  • Implements change from notes taken during floor walks and utilizes business reports for analysis and store planning. Lead on Duty responsibilities, as assigned. Evaluates and provides feedback on associates and their work.
  • Assists Senior Team Lead with determining staffing needs and allocation of payroll hours.
  • Approves all schedules prior to communicating to associates.
  • Creates schedules, as needed.
  • Approves and completes all departmental personnel actions using MSS.
  • Completes 4473 audits and signs off as final approver.
  • Responsible for security of company assets and acts as emergency contact for store, as needed.
  • Approves all time clock exceptions.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and resolves customer issues and situations.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs, requests for service and assistance

  • Manages associates in the assigned department.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department.
  • Directly supervises 2 to 4 non-supervisory associates.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

At least three years of relevant experiencerequired.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
