DESCRIPTION: PartnerBusiness Development ManagerforExtreme ScaleInfrastructure (ESI) Austin, Texas This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a dynamic and growing team in one of today's hottest sectors of the IT industry. The Extreme ScaleInfrastructure (ESI) organization consists of Data Center Solutions (DCS) & Datacenter Scalable Solutions (DSS) and focuses oninfrastructure and solutions for the hyperscale and near-hyperscale space. Operating as a semi-autonomous business within Dell, ESI maintains a start-up and scaling fast mentality. This culture has allowed ESI to grow exponentially. As such, applicants for this role should demonstrate an ability to manage a broad spectrum ofresponsibilities and interface effectively with non-product management functions such asengineering,architecture,sales, procurement, operations, program management, andfinance. This position isresponsible for providing commodity recommendations based on insight from partner focus areas, pricing, supply,technology, andportfolio gaps Operating as a semi-autonomous business within Dell, ESI maintains a start-up and scaling fast mentality. As such, applicants for this role should demonstrate an ability to lead and manage a broad spectrum ofresponsibilities and interface effectively with non-marketing functions such asengineering,architecture,sales, procurement, operations, and program management. The ability to effectively deal with ambiguity cannot be overstated.Responsibilities: - - Provide commodity recommendations based on insight from partner focus areas, pricing, supply,technology, andportfolio gaps - - Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to understand roadmaps, offerings,technologies, incentives, and areas of joint opportunities - Identifies commodity strategies for ESIs approach to various customers and industries, often using qualitative andquantitative research - Tracks and evaluates newtechnology development for assigned suppliers and/or commodities -Reports commodity and supplier performance on a regular basis - Identifies suppliers that provide relevanttechnology for products and/or capabilities - Engage with PowerEdge peripheral planners to understand standard offerings - Developsales enablement tools around partner offerings - Provide commodity cost trends and outlook - Works toward ESI and partner/supplier goals and objectives to build awareness and support of overall strategic benefits of the alliance - Builds plans and ensures execution of MDF programs andother funding mechanisms - Facilitates strategic communication with business partners on partner programs - Oversees and/or tracks funding for ESI and strategic partners ensuring compliance to rules and guidelines for funding - Understand transactional customer commodity trends to provide input tointernal teams and vendors

QUALIFICATION: -8+years ofexperience in product management in server or relative industry - Must understand technical product concepts to assist engineers and customers in making product/commoditytradeoff decisions - Strong knowledge of data centertechnologies, future trends, and direction, including hyperscale industry competitors - Solid business, analytical, and critical thinking skills - Strong skills in hands-on execution and project management - Must have a pragmatic, hands-on style, and the ability to think outside the box - Strong planning and priority-setting abilities - Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills -Experienced at managing and delivering on time with multiple concurrent priorities - Must have the ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
