  • Can be located anywhere in the East or Mid-west, with ability to travel extensively (50% - 80%) via auto and air throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia
  • 5 - 7+ years in an industrial environment with responsibility for industrial machine maintenance and commissioning
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controler) and electricalexperiencerequired, including some programming ability and use of Allen Bradley equipment
  • Experienceprogramming HMIs (CTC Parker, Allen Bradley and Siemens)

  • Previous successful employment where direct customercontactrequired

  • Previous successful employment where over 50%travel was required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read mechanical drawings - a well-rounded individual who can go out on any type of service call
  • Strong electrical skills/aptitude and the ability to read electrical schematics
  • Proven knowledge of pneumatic principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, training skills
  • The proven ability to work independently in the field while interdependent with headquarters
  • Knowledge and operating ability of PC’s and PC applications such as Excel and Word
  • Technical course work covering the following: mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic principles
  • Coursework and demonstrated ability to work with PLC’s and HMIs.
  • BSEngineering, EngineeringTechnology or equivalent experience
  • US Citizens and Green Card holders only

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Previous experience in a foundry environmentpreferred
  • Siemens knowledge is preferred, but client will train if necessary.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for effectively commissioning and servicing company's equipment at customer site. Duties include commissioning new equipment, technical support and troubleshooting of existing equipment, communicating the status of equipment to internal departments and its customers, as well as performing telephone support for Field Service. This position works under limited supervision in an automated environment.

Travel is required throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. Travel ranges 50% - 80%.

  • $48per diem for food expenses.
  • $200 per year for luggage expense.
  • $100 per month for phone expense.
  • Bonus opportunity 10% of base pay. No overtime pay.
  • Tools provided by Company.
  • Computer provided by Company.
  • Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate.
  • Air travel is arranged by the Company and paid by the Company. All other expenses (hotel, car rental, etc.) are submitted to the Company for reimbursement.
  • Candidates must have easy access to airport.

Essential Functions:

  • Services existing equipment at customer sites in order to ensure that equipment is performing at optimal levels and according to machine specifications. Troubleshoot machines in order to isolate and resolve problems.
  • Effectively commissions new equipment at the customer site. Ensures that the equipment has been properly installed for start-up -- both mechanically and electrically.
  • Produces Service Reports, Start-Up Documentation, expense reports, and otherreports pertaining to requirements of the position in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensures that database and “Customer Profile Reports” are current with industry and customer intelligence.
  • Performs warrantee service calls in order to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.
  • Performs courtesy calls to current customers in order to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
  • Checks stock on customers’ spare parts for capital equipment and uses suggestive selling techniques to increase spare parts sales.
  • Seeks equipment upgrades and new equipment business opportunities and promotes the advantages of purchasing performance partnershipcontracts.
  • Develops and provides ideas to Engineering to improve equipment design and eliminate reoccurring manufacturing and design flaws.
  • Trains other Field Service Engineers when needed.
  • Performs technical support via phone as scheduled.

Work Environment: Frequently works in foundries which present hazards such as heat radiating from molten metal, respiratory effects from vapor and fumes, skin effects from contact with chemicals, slips, trips, falls, physical injuries from machinery, and noise.
