The Senior Financial Specialist will report to the director of finance and performs a full range of advanced professional financial duties requiring the application accounting / and or auditing theory, principles and practices. This rule will be a key contributor in the Financial Planning & Analysis function for Wake Med Physician Practices. This position requires extensive work on various financial planning and analysis tasks, including but not limited to management reporting, physician compensation modeling, budgeting and forecasting, and business analysis. This position will also assist the operational areas with developing and monitoring business units' performance indicators as general financial analysis and support. This position performs various projects as assigned and assists the director of finance on projects. Works directly with certain executives on special assignments as requested.
At least 5 years of experience with financial statement preparation, financial statement analysis, technical accounting research, budget preparation and contract analysis with at least five years of related experience, and including financialreport preparation, use of financial applications and/or various software packages to include problem analysis required and a good understanding of financial operations required. Experience in training or providing education to departmental operations managers and directors for financialreporting is preferred. Two - three years problem analysis and understanding of financial operations within a healthcare environment preferred.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of twelve semester hours in Accounting courses required. Accounting degreepreferred. Advanced experience in data mining, report-writing, and upgrade coordination in accounting systems preferred.
