Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Fund Controllers, clients and/or independent auditors.
  • Oversee and lead the Financial Reporting Team and all related operations within the Fund Administration Department
  • Ensure accurate preparation and timely delivery of financial statements and regulatory filings while following rules and regulations established by SEC, U.S. GAAP, ALPS, etc.
  • Lead and/or assist with the implementation,  maintenance  and  review  of  internal  controls, policies and procedures
  • Oversee and stay up to date with the latest technical accounting research related to new and proposed accounting standards
  • Equip managers and supervisors to lead the training and development of their teams, and offer performance evaluations and career development guidance.
  • Chair the Disclosure Control Committee
  • Oversee and lead utilization/implementation of financialreporting technology
  • Assist with the implementation of technology and processes to support the new SEC N-PORT and N-CEN filings
  • Coordinate training and development of Financial Reporting Managers and Supervisors
  • Assist in answering and researching questions during audits with independent auditors, tax managers, clients and Fund Controllers
  • Review of shareholder reports and SEC filings such as N-SAR, N-Q, 24f-2, Form N-MFP
  • Assist and review in filings such as N-1A, N-CSR, N-2 and when applicable N-14’s.
  • Stay current on industry developments and drive implementation within organization
  • Provide expertise for conversions, mergers and liquidations as it relates to reporting needs
  • Hire, manage and mentor professional staff at various levels
  • Collaborate with other groups at ALPS to ensure client satisfaction with services offered
  • Support Director of Fund Administration on various projects and reports as needed
  • Research, coordinate and manage special projects as they arise
  • Work with all levels of management to develop long-term plans, review processes, and implement departmental policies, procedures, goals, standards and best business practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPApreferred
  • 8-10 years in mutual fund accounting or administration, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 8years of supervisory experience; demonstrated experience in leading teams of professionals, staff development, coaching and performance assessments
  • Strong technical knowledge of mutual fund financialreporting and mutual fund accounting including U.S. GAAP, Regulation S-X, N1-A, AICPA for Investment Companies
  • Investment accounting experience in international funds, real estate funds, complex derivatives, complex fixed income, money market, closed-end funds and exchange-traded funds
  • Strong management, development and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage several ongoing and ad hoc projects simultaneously
  • Experience with FIS InvestOne Accounting platform a plus
  • Dynamic and Positive Attitude
