Department Overview

Wealth BusinessArchitecture encompasses the end-to-end lifecycle of defining and realizing the target state business capabilities, which enable TD Wealth strategic priorities. This includes how all business processes and key enablers are aligned and utilized, to deliver a seamless client and employeeexperience, while ensuring adherence to all regulatory andrisk/control requirements. This team works in close collaboration with all Wealth Business Units (DirectInvesting, Advice andAsset Management) along with key partners such as,Technology, Operations,Riskand Control, and Vendors.

Our primary focus is ownership of the key business capabilities and associated platform/system assets across Wealth. We are accountable for the successful execution of the end-to-end lifecycle of those key business capabilities. We are responsible for the development of the long-term strategy, the successful delivery of initiatives tied to the business capabilities including the long-term sustainability. Within Business Architecture, there are 5 Business Capability Pillars which include, (1) Wealth Digital Continuum & Advised SCEM, (2) Wealth Business Transformation, (3) Portfolio Management, Reporting & Fees, (4) Trading & Asset Services and (5) Data Management & Analytics.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be accountable for the Organization Data andassociated business capabilities (andassociated assets) and Data Stewardship mandate within the Data Management & Analytics BusinessArchitecture Capability Pillar. This will entail encompassing the end-to-end life cycle of our Organizational data management including the strategic roadmap, the business delivery of anytechnology and/or business process changes and the sustainment model. These business capabilities roll up into the overarching BusinessArchitecturevision that will shape the Wealth businesses moving forward.

Requirements

Reporting to theAssociate Vice President in the Data Management & Analytics pillar, for the capabilities owned, theresponsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to the following:

Drive Innovation & Strategic Transformation

  • Design the target state for the centralizing an authoritative source of Wealth specific Organization Data, demonstrating how it will achieve strategic business outcomes, while collaborating with other partners
  • Develop the long-term roadmap of initiatives that will achieve the target state directly (cost/benefit, strategic alignment, etc.)
  • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce costs or create capacity within capabilities assigned
  • Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and participate in industry committees and/or conferences
  • Review and propose opportunities to leverage Wealth’s approach to Org. Data Management, to Personal Banking

Engage

  • Proactively engage user groups and business leaders to ensure that capability solutions are fulfilling on their evolving needs
  • Manage vendor/technology partners, as applicable, to ensure ongoing alignment to the assigned capability’s needs and to the long-term strategic road and architecture vision
  • Fulfil Data Steward obligations across Wealth’s Organizational Data

Support

  • Manage the ongoing sustainment model for the Wealth Org Data Master and associated business processes
  • Manage issues or escalations in relation to Wealth Org Data

Measure / Monitor

  • Clearly define capability success metrics around overall effectiveness for capabilities assigned
  • Implement the Data Governance framework, as defined by TD’s Chief Data Officer, for Wealth’s Organizational data
  • Develop portfolio dashboard, for capabilities assigned, that could include testimonials and portfolio metrics for reporting to business lines
  • Actively seek feedback from users and support areas

Evolve

  • Understand the Vendor landscape, identifying best-in-class solution providers and opportunities emerging in the industry, where they exist
  • Understand how the businesses use the tool/program and their key needs to enable business strategy; identify opportunities for reusability, scalability, innovation and enterprise-wide solutions

Lead

  • Guide and direct a team of Business Analysts, providing coaching, mentoring and development opportunities
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues

Additional Information

Qualifications / Skills / Experiences:

  • 8+ years of experience in providing delivery leadership and driving successful business outcomes
  • Proven experience in Data Management/Data Stewardship of enterprise level data assets
  • Proven product management abilities – can manage the full life cycle of a product / capability
  • Extensive experience in Wealth Management related to operating model of the various aspects of the business
  • Creative thinker that can conceptualize ideas that align to strategic vision
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex issues
  • Strong ability to bring a client and employee experience point-of-view
  • Excellent relationship management abilities and team building skills
  • Experienced meeting facilitator
  • Proficiency of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio

Special Education Requirements / Accreditations

  • Undergraduatedegree
  • Canadian Securities Course /Options Licensing Course an asset
  • Experience with Agile an asset (specifically acting as a Product Owner)
  • Financial Services Industry designations considered an asset
