Job Description

The Strategic Planning Manager is a critical role in the development of both long-term and short-term strategy for the Consumer Integrated business and its 4 business units (Replacement Tires, OE Tires – tires sold to car manufacturers, CFNA – our internal credit card, and Bridgestone Retail Operations). In partnership with the Director of Strategy, this role is responsible for the successful coordination of annual strategic planning processes and the inputs necessary for them.  Additionally, this role will serve as a key player in the leadership needed to push critical cross-business unit Consumer Tire projects to success and will be accountable to deliver a set of key monthly reports consumed by Senior Leaders and ultimately our corporate headquarters in Japan.  As a Strategic Planning Manager, the role will be called upon to be the key subject matter expert for industrial as well as macro-economic trends and will often be involved with evaluation of potential Strategic Partnerships and M&A activity.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate & help manage the strategy and planning processes for the Consumer Integrated Tire business
  • Create and communicate a set of key monthly reports on the state of the business in partnership with the sector President and business unit Presidents
  • Serve as the key industry expert and owner of data sources pertaining to the tire, credit, and retail industries as well as the macro economic factors that influence their success
  • Lead chosen strategic projects to successful completion
  •  Provide necessary analytical skills needed to evaluate project and/or identified M&A opportunities

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 4 years of relevant experience in the business, strategic development, project leadership, finance, and/or marketing fields
  • Strong communications ability (written and oral)
  • High level proficiency in Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

 

Preferred

  • MBA preferred
