This opportunity requires work to be delivered at the client site in Tiverton, Ontario which is located on the shores of Lake Huron in the scenic Bruce County. Tiverton is approximately 3 hours NW of Toronto.

As a resource manager, you will be responsible for project staffing.              

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the creation of the high level resource estimates for new work requests
  • Assign, schedule and coordinate resources for projects – overseeing resourcing across the IT department in order to forecast possible at risk projects or resource constraints
  • Lead meetings to enable the assigning, scheduling and coordination of resources for projects and initiatives
  • Lead weekly/monthly resourcing meetings with BRMs, SMs, and PMs and Project Planners (PP), reviewing current assignments, facilitating resourcing issues/conflict resolution and staying up to date on project opportunities and staffing requirements
  • Work with managers and partners to identify appropriate resource requirements for each customer and project
  • Communicate allocation issues and proactively propose solutions to the customers via BRMs
  • Support the development and refinement of processes to drive efficient management of staff forecasting and allocation
  • Regularly present progress to leadership
  • Manage resourcing forecast spreadsheets
  • Work with PMs and PPs to monitor day to day project activities and resourcing, identifying potential instances of underutilization and actively address and solve those issues
  • Identify potential resourcing or process issues and present to leadership with resolutions to such issues where applicable
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for resource management
  • Work directly with the SMs to resolve any issues regarding under or over allocations of the current staff members

Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of Resourcing, Career Development, Staffing, Human Resources, Consulting and/or Project Management experience in a Professional Services environment

  • High level of proficiency with various software packages including MS Offices and other desktop tools. Experience with Resource Management and Project Management tools (e.g. P6) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong consultative, business partnering and influencing skills; able to establish high trust and credibility
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment and easily adapts to changing priorities
  • Ability to prioritize business needs to client demands and operate under tight deadlines

  • Agility in providing a variety of reports as needed
