Roles and Responsibilities

Attributes of our Developers include but are not limited to:

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where there are opportunities to work with a wide variety of multi-disciplined project teams that involve our internal staff along with resources from other POWER Engineer's business units, business partners, and client teams
  • Support and maintain complex software applications for clients in the Electric, Gas, Water, Telecommunications and Local Government sectors
  • Interface with a diverse customer base to understand and document requirements, develop robust software designs, and construct innovative software solutions
  • Work with the team to develop and continuously improve the development process, standards, and tools
  • Grow with experience to assume more direct responsibility in supporting clients

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, GIS, Information Systems, Computer Science or a similar degree that focuses on software development skills, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience and expertise in C#, Visual Studio, ASP.Net, and JavaScript/JQuery/DoJo
  • Natural talent for software development, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • A solid understanding of general database concepts, software revision control, and software development methodologies
  • An ability to learn and apply new programming concepts and skills quickly

Desired Education/Experience

  • Experience/Expertise with ArcGIS or other GIS Software, and ArcObjects programming, Cityworks, or other work/asset management applications, and Development with Cityworks APISQL programming with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
  • Basic database administration skills

  • Mobile application development
  • Utility Industry knowledge
