We have an opening at our Foothill Ranch, CA (Orange County) facility for a Pulsed Power Electronics Engineer who is responsible for the design, build, and support of custom, low power generators, control and diagnostic electronics for high pulsed power electrophysical equipment. The Pulsed Power Electronics Engineer will also be responsible for maintenance of the low power control and diagnostics electronics for pulse power generators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design of analog and digital electronics for high voltage and high power pulse generators.
Develop control, interlock and diagnostic electronics for pulse power generators, powerful RF generators and other electrophysical equipment.
Maintain the existing pulse power systems including its hardware and software control.
Troubleshooting the multiple issues of pulse power equipment in a limited time scale.
This position requires heightened security because of access to controlled information, and employment with Tri Alpha is contingent upon Tri Alpha either verifying U.S. person status or electing to apply for, and obtaining, any necessary licenses. Tri Alpha may choose not to apply for the license for such individuals who may require them and may decline to proceed with an application on that basis.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and maintenance capability.
The ability to work independently as well as a member of a team is required.
Technical Experience (Equipment, tools, etc.):
Experience in using Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Source Meter, Arbitrary Waveform Generator, Multimeter.
Experience in PCB mounting, soldering and crimping cable.
Software Knowledge and Skills:
Experienced in the use of CAD systems for capturing schematics and PCB layout
Experienced in the use of simulation tools for designing electronics systems
Experience with National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW software would be useful
Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Able to work flexible and extended hours when needed
Experience in the design, construction and operation of analog and digital electronics for industrial, medical or scientific application.
Experience in in electronic circuit design, control and measurement system design and PCB layout.
