Responsibilities
- Defines the vision, strategy, and technical architecture of target-state infrastructure patterns and manages the teams needed to achieve target state.
- Provides strategic technology leadership in support of business objectives. The engineering function includes planning, organizing, budgeting & controlling the overall Technology Lifecycle Management processes.
- End-to-end integration of infrastructure capabilities required for developing new operational model—from defining requisite technical capability model and mapping that to skills, infrastructure software stacks, security and control processes.
- Responsible for pivoting the design and delivery of infrastructure services from legacy long-running waterfall investments to one of rapid iteration, continuous integration and deployment of infrastructure software services.
- Fosters a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.
- Leads the development of the infrastructure strategy and roadmap, and ensures its integration with the broader IT and enterprise strategic plans.
- Works with the enterprise architecture team to ensure that the IT infrastructure enables necessary applications and business processes.
- Builds and maintains business and application development relationships to gain insight of business needs; ensures cost-effective infrastructure solutions are in place to meet those needs, and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
- Leverages influencing and negotiation skills across IT and the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
- Participates in the assessment of external and internal infrastructure capabilities required to achieve desired business goals.
- Maintains currency on new technologies and platforms, and provides direction on what emerging infrastructuretechnologies should be introduced, integrated and assimilated.
- Manages the portfolio of infrastructure assets and services from purchase or adoption through retirement.
- Leads IT infrastructureengineering's involvement in the IT organization's innovation and transformation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.
- Provides oversight for the design and development of IT infrastructure platforms that fulfill the needs of the business.
- Continually looks for leading-edge and innovative solutions to the recruitment, development and retention of the infrastructureengineering workforce.
- Works with Talent Acquisition leadership team to forecast future skills needs to acquire and a workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies.
- Drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure Enterprise Services delivers value to the enterprise.
- Provides leadership, coaching and direction to the IT infrastructureengineering team and staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related filed or 10 plus equivalent work experience in an applicable industry.
- Ten plus years demonstrated experience leading an Engineering team along with 5 years plus of management and organizational budgeting experience.
- Preferably experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams influencing key stakeholders across the organization and within complex contexts
- Proven ability inspiring, motivating, and developing an engineering team that can deliver quality and product on time.
- Deep understanding of current and emerging infrastructuretechnologies and how otherenterprises are employing them
- Success in leveraging both traditional practices, such as IT service management, as well as emerging methods, such as DevOps, that are optimized for agility
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a plan that ensures that the right people are in the right roles at the right time, and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied
- Ability to adapt and leverage experience in a dynamic, high growth environment.
- Strong business acumen and agility within large, matrixed organizations.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining focus results and execution excellence.
