Infrastructure Services Senior Automation Engineer
We currently have an opening for a Senior Automation Engineer within our Infrastructure Services division on our Applications and Technologies team. This position serves as the authority for releaseengineering across the various development organizations we support. You will support a variety of technologies that are owned by the Applications and Technologies team, with a focus on Jenkins.
Purpose: Support of development and IT operations based automation. Serve as capability owner for Jenkins for Infrastructure Services.
Scope : Assist all operations and development staff with their use of automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible, etc.) across the company.
Some of the things you will you be doing:
Perform technical oversight of Jenkins usage across the organization
Collaborate with teams who use Jenkins to ensure best practices are being followed
Advise across CSC on the use of Jenkins
Support continuous integration automated testing and deployment
Collaborate with engineers and developers to troubleshoot automation
Serve as the Operations lead for Jenkins in the DevOps partnership within CSC
Stay abreast of the product roadmap for Jenkins
With CSC’s Infrastructure Services organization, monitor and maintain all Jenkins deployments for health, scalability, and stability.
Successful candidates will bring these skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent job experience
Expert level knowledge of and experience with the Jenkins product
Knowledge of build artifact storage methodologies and lifecycle
Experience with Git and GitHub workflows
Strong understanding of Java and Java tooling to support the development teams
Ability to automate procedures to produce repeatable software builds and releases
Experience with system monitoring tools
Experience across programming languages (Java, .Net, scriptinglanguages)
Experience with a software development methodology
Strong commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in a fast passed, highly dynamic environment
