What you will be doing

  • Maintaining and improving gas asset data storage in the individual data stores, upholding the data governance process and executing management of change activities
  • Supporting the business by improving data quality through data mining, data analytics, data visualization and data validation projects
  • Maintains the business rules for gas asset data validation and acts as a steward for any gas asset data model or system changes
  • Integrates and prepares large, varied datasets, supporting architecture development for specialized analytical databases and computing environments, communicating results, reporting and preparing maps or visual aids, and producing or updating data sets to be consumed for risk modeling or to meet compliance requirements of the integrity management programs
  • Responsibilities include maintaining the link between the source asset record and the data, managing projects to collect and scan legacy records into the document management system and maintaining the gas asset record metadata and tagging standard for standardized searching, record access and retrieval
  • Is the liaison for standardized gas asset data reports for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Fosters relationships with industry experts and internal stakeholders by attending training, conference, and data science networking events to continually develop self and keep current on data storage standards, analytics use cases, technologies, and methods
  • Keeps Corporate Analytics and IT departments abreast of related innovations and recommends appropriate resources and investments accordingly
  • Provides on-going consultation and technical assistance for gas asset data and record related inquiries, including emergency response and incident investigation
  • Participates in emergency response activities as needed
  • Supports company operations during periods of labor unrest

 

Qualifications

 

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in informatics, data management/analytics, engineering or engineeringtechnology (ABET accredited program) or related data science fields  
  • 6+ years of experience in business, institutional, industrial, or energy / utilities setting
  • Strategy development and leadership ability
  • Experience communicating complex topics to all levels of organizations (C-level to field staff)
  • Excellent verbal, meeting facilitation, presentation, and written communication skills

It would be awesome if you have:

  • Masters in Business Administration
  • 6+ years of experience in energy and/or utilities strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical research and project delivery in business and / or university settings
  • Experience working with teams on large technical implementations
  • Experience in utility strategy and industry research a plus
