Role Overview: Lucas Group has been engaged by a well established Transportation Company that is looking to fill the position of Human Resources Manager. This is a true generalist position leading the HR function in a broad based manner from highly strategic to daily tactical execution. The right individual will be working directly with the President and CEO to mitigate risk and be innovative for the company. The ideal candidate will be a polished, motivated individual who takes initiative with 5+ years HRexperience in a manufacturing or transportation work environment. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

  • US and Canadian Payroll Administration
  • Benefit Plan Design and Administration, including ACA compliance
  • Submission of federal and state/provincial requiredreporting
  • Employment Files
  • Supporting the recruiting function and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws
  • Maintaining current and up-to-date knowledge of employment related regulations and providing guidance to the organization on compliance related matters
  • Other human resource generalist duties to include but not limited to the employee handbook, employee relations, unemployment claims and FML administration
  • Familiarize themselves with all aspects of the operational side of the business, to include dispatch and driver management

Requirements:

  • 5+ years HRexperience in manufacturing or transportation industry
  • Bachelors Degreerequired
  • Payroll and/or benefits experiencerequired
  • Multi State experiencepreferred
  • PHR strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with Canadian employment a plus
