This position is within Reynolds American Services Company—a subsidiary that provides support services, including compliance, HR, law, finance, information management, and more to all of the subsidiaries of RAI.

 

The Lead Manager, Corporate Security will be responsible for managing and coordinating enterprise-wide security programs and policies for RAI and its subsidiaries. Role is responsible for establishing physical security systems and access controls to protect personnel, assets, products and facilities.  Role requires significant interaction and collaboration with functional business units from all RAI operating companies in executing activities related to security requirements across the functional areas. Role is responsible for working with Corporate Security Director to develop, implement and manage strategic planning and coordination of the security function as well as its alignment with theorganization’s overall business objectives.  Role manages complex security improvement programs across business units, service organizations and regional geographies. The incumbent will be required to address security issues as directed by the Senior Director, Corporate Security. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Essential Functions)

Protects the organization’s employees, assets, products and all items of value on premises from any preventable harm or danger.  Recommends and manages security policies and procedures that comply with company and regulatory requirements and standards. Manages and provides day-to-day oversight (on a 24-hour/day, seven-day/week basis) ofthe G4S strategic security officer contract which encompasses 200+ security officers for RAI and its operating companies to ensure company security objectives are met.  Plans and directs the security function under senior management direction.  Plan, organize and direct the activities of on-site security personnel and ensure their actions comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Working with Corporate Security Director, develop and implement security policies, procedures, standards, training and methods for safeguarding personnel, property, facilities, products, intellectual property, and business operations.  Manage business critical security projects and programs with significant financial and or legal impact on an enterprise-wide level.  Performs site security surveys and risk assessments at all RAI subsidiaries, as needed. Develops and documents standards for measuring efficiency and effectiveness of security operations. Briefs senior and executive management on status of security issues.  Provide management of special security projects and events as designated by the Corporate Security Director.  Responsible for managing and auditing physical security accesses for all employees and contractors from over 200 vendors. Designs, implements and maintains physical access control systems across the RAI enterprise to include building accesses and access levels, employee identification, and visitor control to meet security needs. Conducts both internal and external investigations as directed by the Corporate Security Director. In the absence of the Director of Corporate Security, serves with the executivemanagement on the crisis management team. Provides security awareness training designed to minimize corporate risk and liability. Provides security guidance to all company controlled sites and facilities. Position may require work through extended hours beyond its regular schedule including weekends and holidays.

Job Specifications

Education:   Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree.

Knowledge/Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ service in a corporate security related managerial role.  Extensive knowledge of security concepts and physical access control systems. Must have experience with and a sound understanding of security control systems (e.g. Lenel). Must be experienced in security guard force and security control room management.

 

Special Skills/Attributes:   The incumbent must be an excellent communicator and possess strong verbal, and written and interpersonal skills.  The incumbent must exercise sound judgment and be able to work in a team environment as well as make independent decisions as needed. This individual must be dependable and reliable and must demonstrate a highlevel of professionalism. Strong investigative skills and problem solving abilities are required.
