POSITION: Regional Sales Manager (Distribution)


REPORTS TO: VP, Sales Central



Responsible for developing and execution of sale plans for each territory in his/her region and responsible for managing all regional agency & distributors relationships. 

Territory includes Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri and Southern Illinois


  • Accountable for managing key relationships with the following: Distribution Chains and Independents, Corporate Accounts, End Users, Electrical Contractors, ESCO’s, LMC’s, Lighting Manufacturers RSM’s, and Lighting Representative Firms
  • Manages Agent Relationships:

- Regularly evaluate performance, mentors and offers guidance around prioritizing time, schedule, negotiations and strategic direction

- Provide daily advice, guidance & & direction to attain maximum sales volume from all distribution markets for the ULT’s products and /or services

  • Creates professional customer/vendor relationships with suitable customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel)
  • Competitor analyses - analyze the competitive position of the organization’s products and/or services
  • Working with Marketing & & Communications - formulating and executes sales promotion policies and programs
  • Management and control of all regional sales expenses (promotional, operating, travel & entertainment)
  • Securing sales opportunities, orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone
  • Offer management prompt communication on all sale activities and important developments in the sales region (salesreports, competitor information, lost business reports etc.)
  • Completes assigned duties with minimum personal supervision from the manager


  • Bachelordegree in a related field of study
  • 7+ years salesexperience in commercial lighting and or electricaldistribution
  • Prior experience in management of sales agents

  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong listening and communication skills
