Aerojet Rocketdyne, as part of the company's Compeititve Improvement Program (CIP), is moving its large solid rocket motor business from the Sacramento, CA facility to the Camden, AR facility.


In support of the move, the company requires a program management professional to be the focal point for the transition planning between the two plants. This individual will be that focal point to support the transition.  This position will include approximately 50% travel between sites.  This role will last for approximately three to four years, after which you will be considered for other available positions within the enterprise.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

80% - Prepares detailed transition plans including detailed integrated milestone schedules for the transition of large solid rocket motor programs and program manufacturing capabilities from one Aerojet Rocketdyne propulsion facility to another. Executes the transition plans, providing detailed execution status on a regular basis to senior AR management.  Manages the budgetassociated with the execution of the transition.  Works with the facility industrialengineering organizations at both AR sites to promote the transition of equipment and capabilities between sites.  Assists other DAP program managers trying to manufacture rocket motors at the new facility.


20% - Other duties as assigned.


A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and fourteen (14) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Demonstrated ability to transition large solid rocket motor programs between rocket motor facilities and understand the facility requirements at the receiving facility.


Demonstrated abilities in team building, leadership and delegation skills to achieve project goals. Experience in leading, encouraging and reviewing work of supporting team members to maximize program success.


Demonstrated ability to define and negotiate task objectives, scope description and completion criteria for operational activities. Ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously and to make real time plan adjustments.


Must be proficient in typical office computer programs for the conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word.


Previous experience on similar programs a plus. Positional Certification may be required.


Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. citizenship, dual citizenship does not meet this requirement).


Employees in this position must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.  Requires the ability to travel by air or auto.  May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.   This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
