Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications, the Director of Corporate Public Relations will be a new member on an expanding and dynamic corporate communications team that includes product public relations, branding, social media and internal communications. This position will manage the corporate public relations and media relations programs, as well as develop proactive programs and communications to create and maintain a favorable external image. In addition, the position is responsible for managing corporate crisis communications.

This is a highly visible role where you will have regular interaction with executives across all functions as well as teams, including marketing, legal, investor relations, business development and regulatory.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop public relations plans and initiatives aligned with our corporate goals to extend company awareness and support business growth; champion brand messaging and corporate positioning in U.S. and IRE

  • Collaborate with other functions to elevate key company milestones (e.g., data readouts) and create compelling storylines to drive media coverage and increase awareness of the company

  • Cultivate relationships with key media stakeholders, including journalists, bloggers, and relevant influencers

  • Develop strategic external communications plans for issues management and incident management; lead execution

  • Serve as an accessible, accurate and trusted media contact for general corporate inquiries, news releases and special announcements

  • Establish and implement an executive thought leadership strategy

  • Ensure excellence in media and communications materials, including development, writing, style, tone, approval: flyers, media fact sheets, message documents, Q&As, brochures and related media materials

  • Manage corporate public relations budget


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing/public relations, journalism, English or related discipline

  • 10-15years of experience in a public relations, journalism, communications, marketing or related role with demonstrated experience in writing, editing, media relations, crisis management and working with vendors

  • Skills in writing for a wide variety of assignments including analytical thinking to write material on complex subjects as well as creative writing ability

  • Solid understanding of and ability to communicate scientific information and data in simple terms to various audiences

  • Experience managing or supervising others

  • Demonstrated results and impact orientation

  • Ability to build and maintain close, collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization

  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet budget and deadlines

  • Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to audience, whether verbal or written

  • Excellent verbal skills

  • Self-directed team player

  • Travel as required
