Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a Method Development and Validation Principal Chemist in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Principal Chemist – Method Development and Validation responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
· Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate · Applies the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility · Demonstrates and promotes the company vision · Demonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration · Proactively plans and multitasks to maximize productivity · Meets all quality and productivity metrics and demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration · Regular attendance and punctuality · Performs method development , optimization, and validation of methods in support of tobacco products testing utilizing one or more of the following equipment: HPLC, GC, ICP, Mass Spectrometry, or other special purpose equipment · Writes and executes method development, method validation, and method transfer protocols · Calculate, evaluate, review, approve, and properly communicate data verbally and in written format to management and client · Ensures smooth transition of new methods to routine testing labs including training of analysts to perform the method · Documents project data and results accurately, completely and legibly in notebooks and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) · Performs instrument calibration, instrument troubleshooting, recognizes errors, identifies root causes, and applies process improvements · Stays technologically current in the field, attends seminars and training courses · Publicize technical expertise in papers as appropriate with client, presenting poster sessions, or speaking at technical meetings · Provide technical consulting and expertise to internal labs, troubleshooting methods and instruments as necessary; make recommendations for technical and operational improvements
The ideal candidate would possess :
· Experience in the tobacco industry · Experience in a cGMP and/or ISO17025 environment· Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills· Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail · Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude· Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
· Master’s or Doctorate degree in chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)· At least 5years of in-depth technical experience in chemistry laboratory or related scientific discipline · Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Winston Salem, NC are encouraged to apply.
