Job Summary

As Staff Therapist, Psychological Testing Coordinator, you will bring generalist clinical skills and experience, along with expertise in psychological assessment. You will lead, coordinate and provide direction for the Psychological Testing area, and will participate in interviewing and testing of Purdue students referred for AD/HD, learning disabilities, or developmental disorder assessment; interpreting test results, writing reports, and providing feedback to students. Personality testing will also be involved. You will also nurture and manage relationships with other agencies and organizations who work with students with psychological disabilities, both on and off campus. This staff member is responsible for follow through with forwarding reports and letters to designated individuals or agencies. In addition, this person will provide supervision to the Psychological Testing area member(s) and to therapists in training, as needed. This therapist may also provide therapy services to students, and outreach and consultation services to students and the campus community, as needed Other activities will include attending pertinent staff and team meetings, as well as participating in staff planning and coordination meetings, professional development activities, and in-service presentations.

Experience

Required:

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-approved program
  • Must be licensed or immediately license-eligible in the State of Indiana
  • Three years of general therapy, including supervision and experience in psychological testing/assessment (specifically with LD, AD/HD and Autism Spectrum assessments)
  • Internship year may count toward 3 year minimum experience
  • Confidentiality and adherence to ethical practices
  • Independent judgement and discretion
  • Ability to evaluate, assess, and diagnose clients, make decisions about urgency of clients' problems, and design/implement appropriate treatment interventions
  • Skills in various forms of testing (LD, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum, and personality)
  • Strong skills as a generalist therapist
  • Must relate well to students, medical and professional personnel, faculty and other members of the University community and the community at large
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with young adults
