The Senior Manager, Finance is responsible for driving financial insights and accountability across a very successful Business Unit. This role is responsible for identifying and mitigating financial risk and opportunity, while partnering with the Senior Director, Finance and Strategic Business Segment General Manager(s) to drive top-line revenue growth, earnings pull-through and measured cash flow performance. The preferred location for this role is Waltham, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Build effective relationship to partner and support Strategic Business Segment General Manager(s)
  • Be recognized as key decision-making business partner evaluating and approving:
  • Business opportunities
  • New product development business cases
  • Pricing strategies and product positioning
  • Headcount and other investment proposals
  • Mergers, acquisitions and other external partnerships
  • Drive effective partnerships with Manufacturing Operations and Supply Chain
  • Shape efficient and effective global reporting, forecasting and accountability processes
  • Drive meaningful analytics and reporting into the business by working closely with Sales Operations and Commercial leadership
  • Provide financial leadership to global R&D
  • Improve business case development to prioritize R&D budget across the division
  • Enforce business case discipline within the stage gate processes
  • Work with Sales Operations and Strategic Pricing to evaluate price/volume levers and the effectiveness of promotions and business opportunities
  • Support the strategic planning process and partner with business unit leadership on same
  • Support business unit Annual Operating Plan
  • For organic revenue growth, ensuring alignment between business unit and commercial objectives and targets
  • For global selling, marketing and R&D spending, ensuring affordability and prioritization of investment proposals

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required; an MBA or CPA is preferred
  • An ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials and a strong aptitude in financial analysis
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible business experience, including managing global teams
  • Experience in a global manufacturing organization is desired
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), Cognos reporting tool (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is preferred
  • The successful candidate should expect travel of 5-10%
