Job Summary

Design, develop and implement custom applications; provide technical leadership to team members and recommend development techniques that will support the strategic priorities of the Purdue College of Veterinary. Work as part of a team to develop innovative applications through the incorporation of technology standards. Work closely with faculty and staff to identify needs and develop creative solutions that support Teaching, Research and Extension. Stay current with emerging technologies. Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focusing on rapid, high quality product development and high-end customer service.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Computer Science, Computer and Information Technology or related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in developing responsive and dynamic web sites written in C# and ASP.NET or related experience
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of required experience and related education
  • Possess or obtain Microsoft Certification 070480, Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 within six months
  • Ability to develop and maintain responsive and dynamic web sites incorporating the appropriate use of information technologies and web development tools
  • Ability to interface on both the technical side as well as the customer/business side
  • Capable of working as a liaison between departments and managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Skills in analysis, design and development of applications centered around educational and research applications
  • Ability to quickly acquire expertise in the rapidly changing field of Information Technology
  • Knowledge of source code management/version control (e.g. TFS, VSTS, GitHub)
  • Knowledge of web development languages and techniques
  • Working knowledge of Content Management, Microsoft SharePoint, PHP, C# and C# .NET framework
  • Experience practicing Agile project management methodologies
