As a Sr. Director of Tax for a large multi-national organization, you will be responsible for all tax functions both domestic and international. In this Senior Leadership position, you will report directly to the CFO. You also will advise the CFO and Board of Directors on tax positions taken and recommend planning opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparation / Review of financial tax reporting under guideline as established by ASC 740
  • Preparation/Review of consolidated federal and state income tax returns to include apportionment and state modifications
  • Preparation / Review of estimated tax filings
  • Review of international tax returns
  • Responsible for all tax audits to include income, sales tax, property tax and VAT as well as SOX compliance audits. Responsible for preparation and review of all state and local sales tax returns
  • Develop, train, motivate and encourage staff and collaborate with all leadership in finance and accounting
  • Prepare, review and/or present periodic presentations to Board of Directors, senior executives and line management at all levels on key tax issue developments with a focus on risk management
  • Manage global transfer pricing study and implementation
  • Develop tax strategy for all mergers and acquisitions
  • Review and advise on transactions with potential material tax contingencies
  • Guide strategies to minimize tax risk and cost of global mobility and entry into new geographic markets
  • Lead process improvement activities cross-functionally to redesign, standardize, and automate tax accounting, reporting processes, including working with third party advisors
  • Provide technical advice related to income and non-income tax issues as requested
  • Manage overall compliance working with local providers and the finance organization
  • Working with the Controller to design and manage global intercompany accounting
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally, if required
  • Oversee the technological tools deployed to manage tax
  • Ensure compliance with tax processes and controls for the US federal, international and state income tax returns and tax provision processes
  • Maintain a current awareness and understanding of and to fully comply with the company's code of ethics, independence rules and quality control practices

Job Knowledge/Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA required
  • 10+ years in a combination of an International corporation and/or an accounting firm
  • 5+ years international tax planning including planning under the laws of foreign countries
  • 10+ years of management experience
  • Knowledge of accounting for income taxes ASC 740
  • Experience implementing tax structures
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions
  • Transfer pricing experience
  • Experience managing a team and working as part of a team
  • Foreign audit management experience
  • Experience managing outside counsel, auditors and tax preparers
