The Regional Sales Director is primarily responsible for managing and directing a team of Account Executives to grow Viracor Eurofins' test volume and revenue to achieve the financial objectives. The Regional Sales Director is also responsible for implementing business strategies, providing competitive feedback, and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities within an assigned geographic area.

Employee Responsibilities:

  • The Regional Sales Director is responsible for leading, managing, and directing a team of direct reports to grow Viracor Eurofins' test volume and revenue by expanding business in existing accounts and by securing business from new accounts
  • Implement management processes that ensure consistent, timely, and successful execution of Viracor Eurofins' sales strategies and objectives.
  • Efficiently manage and direct sales activities which move a client through the sales process from cold calling to close and follow-up
  • Develop relationships within key accounts which reflect favorably on Viracor Eurofins
  • Effectively deliver formal sales presentations to groups
  • Manage expenses within budget
  • Work effectively with Viracor Eurofins Associates as needed to provide best service possible to an account
  • Effectively manage a team of Account Executives and Clinical Product Specialists to maximize client face time and sales productivity; maintain updated records
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop and manage Account Executives and Clinical Product Specialists
  • Demonstrate ability to compare and contrast diagnostic technologies used
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively discuss pathogens and the immune system
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills through supervision, coaching and mentoring of others
  • Utilize strong network of contacts both inside and outside the Company
  • Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes at all times
  • Other duties as assigned by management

The Ideal Candidate would possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences or business administration
  • At least 10 years of sales experience; proven success in laboratory services or diagnostics business
  • At least 5 years of management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory services or diagnostics business
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current U.S. healthcare trends that can be integrated into regional sales strategies
  • Ability to travel up to 75-80%
  • Proven track record of driving sales results as a manager
  • Firm understanding of budget and fiscal responsibility
  • Capable of learning, retaining, and effectively communicating technical material
  • Ability to influence leadership and others
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding matters of significance
  • Ability to foster team building; mutual respect; Associate development
  • Proven superior problem solving abilities
  • Goal oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills; ability to present to groups of all sizes

  • High level of proficiency with PC based software programs, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
  • Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
