Position Purpose Summary:

The successful candidate will serve as a Product Manager for our Trus Joist Engineered Wood Products product line as well as other products within the Weyerhaeuser product portfolio (panels, lumber). This position will be assigned to the BlueLinx Bellingham location located at 419 Maple St Bellingham, MA. The targeted territory for this role includes the Boston Metro area westward along the I-90 corridor to Albany NY. This market averages an annual sales volume of over $12M in Engineered Wood Products.

This role requires:

  • Extensive knowledge, technical, and depth of experience with Engineered Wood Products
  • Capability to work closely with outside and inside sales representatives to support their customer's
  • Ability to identify new opportunities; develop sales solutions; close sales opportunities; negotiate pricing
  • Provide outstanding customer service and follow-up
  • Willingness and capability to support additional product lines as needed



  • Understand company's vision, mission, and strategy; understand business unit objectives and set/accomplish performance goals accordingly
  • Identify sales opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Develop sales solutions and suggest competitive pricing strategies
  • Improve profitability, product penetration, product mix, and inventory turns
  • Sell large volumes of assigned product to targeted accounts
  • Ensure effective product performance
  • Promotes good customer/supplier relations through scheduled contact and communication
  • Assist customers with sales and technical support, resolve customer service issues
  • Capable to present solutions to customers and reevaluate solutions where necessary
  • Provides product and project technical information
  • Answers technical and specification questions for customers and sales team.
  • 5-7+ years' experience with BS / BA or equivalent industry experience preferred.



Working knowledge of assigned product line, customer support/service, market analysis, sales forecasting, products, pricing, and inventory management. Possesses well developed consultative selling skills, negotiation and communication skills. Negotiates prices, provides market updates, prospects, evaluating current and potential sales. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant sales systems technology.
