Brief Summary of Role

The Appirio Manager will manage senior resources and mentor a group of Appirio Associate Consultants, enabling them to support and perform Salesforce.com configuration, data, and development tasks for our delivery project teams. Specific areas of concentration are:

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 8-12 direct reports and be responsible for their team in all respects. Specific areas of responsibility include coordinating with regional Delivery and Operations Managers and the Director of Consulting Services in the following areas:

  • Coaching and Mentoring
  • On-boarding new consultants with direct mentoring and ramp-up activities
  • Meeting directly with team members on their career goals, career development, and performance feedback on projects
  • Demonstrating leadership, mentoring your team as they grow their business, and consulting skills
  • Sharing technical guidance through brainstorming sessions, and development of best practices
  • Establishing and maintaining feedback loop with Project, Program, and Engagement Managers for feedback on projects
  • Customers
  • Minimal staffed on projects to stay close to the delivery process
  • Escalation point to provide direction and coaching where required
  • Recruiting
  • Building team via recruiting to meet company staff plans each quarter
  • Working with corporate recruiters
  • Financials
  • Ensuring your team reaches individual utilization targets
  • Collaborating with other Appirio managers to optimize consultant assignments across all projects
  • Forecast revenues for assigned region
  • Human Resources
  • Helping consultants manage customer assignments and guide their careers
  • Planning continuous training opportunities for team members
  • Guiding individual's goals and performing final evaluation
  • Ensuring your team's records are accurately maintained and up to date
  • Staffing
  • Providing input on project staffing, to make sure the right team is assembled
  • Keeping consulting operations managers informed of team member performance objectives, skill sets, personal preferences and availability

Education and Required Experience (Requirements)

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Business or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years experience with consulting or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience managing technical teams
  • 2+ years experience with Salesforce.com
