Responsibilities

  • Ensure the operational effectiveness and productivity of the laboratories and ensure that it reflects the high standards of our customers' working environments
  • Manage the deployment of Waters Informatics and scientific software solutions across all operational sites
  • Work collaboratively in a highly matrixed organization to drive transfer of best practices between laboratories in pursuit of scientific excellence
  • Lead and manage 2(+) direct reports
  • Ensure excellent lab appearance and safety
  • Provide education for troubleshooting, best practices, new policies, and new hire on-boarding
  • Ensure good data management practices
  • Quality- audits, system health, metrics, feedback to R&D
  • Efficiency- asset management, information sharing, process flow and automation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a physical or analytical science discipline required. MS or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years' experience running a lab management function, preferably across sites in different countries
  • Previous hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation
  • Technical operations experience in the generic drug industry a plus
  • Proven reputation for laboratory and budget management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of the ability to forge strong working relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Excellent networking skills, and demonstrable managerial courage to engage peers in the roll-out of new initiatives
  • Ability to interact with and influence senior leadership
  • An excellent communicator with experience of interacting effectively across interfaces of discipline, culture, and expertise
  • Optimistic outlook- Able to demonstrate the drive and energy to establish this role and make a difference
  • Enthusiasm to work as a part of a dynamic, multi-cultural organization
  • 15-20% Domestic and International travel required
