Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as an Engineer Liaison - Disposal out of Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

Evaluates and resolves engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality and material engineering. Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, material, manufacturing and subcontractors to provide and obtain technical information; investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules and orders. Examines, measures, inspects or tests defective parts for conformance. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective actions.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability: General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.

Problem Solving: Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Discretion/Latitude: Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Works under general supervision. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Impact: Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.

Liaison: Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field of study, or 5 years similar experience in lieu of a degree; 0 years with Masters

Active Secret-level Security Clearance

Demonstrate strong people, organizational, presentation and communication skills, written and verbal

Ability to work independently with multi-disciplined teams within the program

Ability to travel between 25 and 50% of the year

Basic safety knowledge including lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, asbestos safety and electrical safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with hand tools and test equipment, and the use thereof for removal and replacement of equipment and troubleshooting

Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical manuals, and the use thereof for operating, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
