Job Purpose:

The Business Development Executive is responsible for driving and growing new business revenue. The Business Development Executive contributes to the success of the sales team by seeking out new customers and markets, prospecting qualifications, cold calling and meeting sales targets.

Essential Functions:

· Understand and adapt to Limelight's ongoing product and technology developments.

· Focus on new logo acquisition within all business segments of a given territory.

· Identify and recruit new customers in a strategic fashion to maximize revenue generation.

· Manage multiple cross-product opportunities and projects.

· Generate accurate forecast and sales activity reports.

· Maintain a positive and upbeat demeanor and be successful as a phone based salesperson.


Experience and Education (minimums)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience of successful quota carrying sales/sales management in streaming or content delivery network services, digital marketing and interactive services, digital rights management, online video platform, SaaS storage, web analytics, managed web hosting or other SaaS solutions.
  • Experience within Enterprise, Digital Media, Gaming & Software companies preferred.

  • Proficient in finding opportunities by self-prospecting into net new accounts.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a sales team including solutions engineers, professional services, marketing and Executives to set appropriate account expectations and ensure satisfied customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.
