Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring that our general ledger is accurate and that all our reporting deadlines are met. In this role you will be required to meet tight deadlines and preform a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger review, analysis and reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of our budget and forecast activities. You will be responsible for ensuring and preventing accounting errors and will be expected to enforce and implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy of our books and records. This position reports to the Controller but you will also work directly with Accounts Payable, Financial Directors and Client Financial Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Direction and supervision of the timely efforts of the accounting staff (10 people), in the recording of all transactions. Including the following:
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Staff Cost
  • G & A Expenses
  • Accounts Receivable
  • WIP
  • Fixed Assets
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accrued Expenses
  • Complete responsibility of G/L
  • Coordination of all aspects of the monthly G/L close
  • Meeting our holding companies Reporting Deadlines via Cartesis submission
  • Maintenance of the corporate accounting records and their security
  • Primary liaison with internal & external auditors
  • Analytical review budget vs. actual analysis and month-end financial statements
  • HR Support and Benefit Account Responsibility
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare value-added reporting
  • Assist with resolution of accounting and finance issues
  • Critically examine opportunities to gain efficiencies and streamline processing
  • Special projects working with Controller and/or CFO
  • Responsible for sales tax compliance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA
  • 7-10 years' experience
  • Public Accounting experience, 3+ years
  • Prior managerial experience
  • Experience running monthly close
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Proven track record of improving processes and leading teams
  • Experience with J.D. Edwards or other large ERP systems
  • Prior job cost experience
