QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics Education in health, agricultural and/or environmental informatics Experience in proteomics, including performing liquid chromatography/mass spectroscopy (LC/MS) data analysis Deep knowledge and understanding of genomics, next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and analysis, and related applications. Proficiency in Linux / Cloud-based computing and their application to a variety of bioinformatics data analysis situations Fluency in Bioconductor and Biopython Proficiency in using bioinformatics tools and databases Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization Proficiency in data analytics, data mining, and identifying and monitoring trends Curriculum Development experience an asset Capacity to commit to the course development over the next 3-5 months DUTIES: Act as a Subject Matter Expert and work closely with an Instructional Designer and Program Leader to plan and develop curriculum content for the following courses and related labs: Proteomics Interpreting DNA sequence data Capstone: Independent Data Analysis Project Develop a course outline including learning outcomes, evaluations, required resources and learning plans Participating in meetings with various stakeholders to address the proposed course(s) Responding to and amending documents, as required to address internal reviews Applications will be accepted by the Organizational Development and Talent Management Department through our Career Portal athttps://www.canadorecollege.ca/about/careers until 12:00 p.m., on the closing date.
