Details at www.duq.edu/benefits Location: Residence Life Position Status: Full-time Hours: Varied Position Number: 000633/30-442 FLSA Status: Non-exempt POSITIONSUMMARY: The StudentHousing Specialist will oversee the onboarding and development of the studentdesk aides of all applicable buildings in additional to handing schedulingdisputes and managing administrative duties for the central office. Thisposition will be responsible for student furniture, lounge furniture, summerfurniture moves, refrigerators, and other Residence Life appliances. Thisposition manages the housing crew staff that moves furniture during the schoolyear and summer. Works under the direct supervision of the Business Manager andAssistant Vice President of Residence Life and Housing. DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs routine desk support duties at the main residence life office. Supports the department by fielding phonecalls, directing visitors, and responding to letters and other mail. Interactsand builds rapport with parents, students, visitors, and university officialsto fulfill the outreach commitments that are expected. Coordinates therecruitment, training, and ongoing development of all student desk aides forthe residential buildings managed by the Office of Residence Life. Supervisesthe student desk aides' schedules for every residential building. Coordination of daily adjustments resultingfrom call-offs and time off with resident directors is part of this. Oversees thecompletion of the crew assignments pertaining to the furniture in the residencehalls and assists with furniture replacement, moving, and rearranging. Fulfillany additional inventory-related tasks that the department deems required.Assist with the delivery of refrigerators and furnishings for contractors. Completes otherduties as assigned. SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES: Supervisesstudent employees only. Guides work ofothers who perform the same work. May organize, set priorities, schedule andreview work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performanceor make pay decisions, e.g., Lead position. REQUIREMENTS:Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree an accredited institution and 1-3years of progressivelyresponsible experience. Current PAdriver's license in good standing. Preferred qualifications: Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions.
