Position: Senior Windows Systems EngineerLocation: Sandy Springs, GA (in office 4 days per week)Type: Full-TimeCompensation: $120,000 - $135,000 per year + BonusThe Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining availability and high-performance in mixed Windows development, non-production, and production environment. The Senior Systems Engineer performs Active Directory administration and engineering, root cause analysis of problems, selects, develops, and implements automation tools, as well as actively participates in deep technical discourse. They are also responsible for software releases, deployment of those releases, scripts, installation procedures and those tools that make all this possible.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design, planning and implementation of server solutionsTune and design systems infrastructure for maximum available performanceAutomation of manual tasks using scripting and application developmentInvestigate and adopt new technologies/tools as needs arise as well as implement said tools quickly and efficientlyParticipate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support and respond to production operations in a 24/7 environmentEvaluate, test, and integrate new operating system versions, drivers, and patchesProvide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutionsProvide support to and coordinate with Developers, Operations staff, and End-UsersProvide education and/or mentorship where needed to Teammates, Operations, Development and QAEnsure streamlined application deployments as part of the overall SDLCProvide leadership in areas of technologyKnowledge and ExperienceDegree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering / Development5+ years of experience with engineering Windows Operating Systems as well as Software Development Engineering, Tools Automation, or similar role in platform deliverySolid experience coding with any combination of PowerShell, Python, Bourne, Groovy, and othersWorking knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application designWorking knowledge of horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availabilityTop-tier analytics and problem solvingAbility to work in a service-oriented team environmentProject Management, organization, and time management skillsCustomer focus, and dedication to the best possible user experienceAbility to communicate effectivelyWith technical or business resourcesThrough fluent speech, reading, and writing in EnglishAbility to provide leadership to the team in areas of expertisePreferredExperience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or an equivalentWorking knowledge of git, foreman, Jenkins, or equivalentUnderstanding Continuous Integration and Delivery conceptsExperience with Jenkins or Jenkins X; including but not limited toSetting up Jenkins & Jenkins AgentsPlugin managementFamiliarity with and using Jenkins APIsJenkins PipelinesWorking knowledge of the creation, support, and deployment of Docker ContainersWorking knowledge of the setup and configuration of Kubernetes*Must be authorized to work for any U.S. Employer*
