Your Career Palo Alto Networks seeks a skilled state income and local tax professional to join our team as a Senior Tax Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess extensive state tax knowledge and practical experience in corporate income tax compliance, reporting to the Senior Manager of State Tax and playing a crucial role in our state tax operations. Your Impact Provide comprehensive State and Local Tax compliance services, including tax return preparation, estimates, and extensions. Prepare supporting workpapers for State and Local Tax, addressing apportionment (sales, property, payroll), credits, and adjustments. Maintain a detailed compliance calendar for state and local tax obligations for various entities and filings. Support quarterly tax provision processes and ensure accurate US GAAP tax provision calculations and disclosures. Monitor updates and changes in state and local tax legislation to assist the overall tax function. Identify risks and exposures while communicating effectively with stakeholders. Assist with state auditor inquiries and related projects as necessary. Your Experience Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience; Big 4 experience is a plus. Independent worker with excellent organizational skills ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to solve complex problems. Ability to work autonomously and represent the tax function effectively across teams. Proficient in managing multiple projects while coordinating with stakeholders. Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and teamwork capabilities. Highly skilled in Excel and comfortable with various IT applications. Proficient in using Corptax Compliance Software. Enthusiastic, positive attitude focused on continuous improvement. Compensation Disclosure The compensation for this role depends on qualifications and location. For the appropriate candidates, the expected starting salary ranges from $98,000 to $156,000 per year, potentially including restricted stock units and bonuses.
