Patisserie Vanessa is an upscale, French local bakery where we make everything from scratch and bake to order for retail customers.Quality and customer satisfaction are key. We are a small but fierce team that can handle a fast-pace and high demand environment while always maintaining the highest quality standards.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
The Chef de Parite is responsible for carrying out operations and productions that take place in the kitchen such as preparing all french classics and baking those according to recipes to be strictly followed. This individual is responsible for maintaining the kitchen production process to maintain the work place safe and hygienic for all employees. The ideal candidate will be passionate about baking, high quality, customer satisfaction and safety of the work place, as well as have a positive attitude, flexibility, and clear communication. Must be available to work on different shifts, weekends, and holidays.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following recipes and baking according to guidlines
Finishing pastries for the pastry case
Working in a team environment to complete daily production lists
Maintain DOH guidelines
Ordering/ Raw material management
Mise en Place
Must be able to prioritize and finish all tasks assigned for the daily baking and work independently in those moments when the supervisors are not immediately available
Accepting deliveries and store food in designated containers and storage areas in an organized and timely manner
Inform supervisors when any equipment is not working properly and anticipate when food supplies are getting low
Keeps a clean work station and assist in soft cleaning all kitchen areas before leaving shift
Perform other related duties as assigned based on evolving business needs
SKILLS
Be detail oriented, passionate about high quality, able to work in a fast pace environment and multi-task
Ability to problem solve, clearly communicate and maintain a positive attitude consistenly
Quick learner and ability to follow recipes strictly
Food Handler’s Certificate preferred, food sanitary safety practice/procedure knowledge
Relevant prior experience as a baker/ pastry cook is a big plus
Recommendations from relevant business a plus, however, all candidates considered as long as strong motivation and relevant skills can be shown
