Cardiac Lab Technologist

Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Assistant Chief Technologist, performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality radiographic images as requested for subsequent interpretation by the radiologist. All duties are performed according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Promotes service excellence in all interactions as outlined in the Key Behaviors in the YNHH Core Success Factors and serves as a mentor for junior staff. Additionally, the Rad Tech 2 functions with minimal supervision, is expected to work independently in problem solving and may assume responsibility for Radiography section operations in the absence of the Assistant Chief Tech. To meet the staffing needs of the department, as necessary, Diagnostic Radiology staff may be assigned at any of the YNHH Diagnostic Radiology locations, regardless of your regularly assigned work location. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex diagnostic imaging equipment. 1 Follows routine protocols and refers to the source document to ensure the correct exam is performed. 1 Assists schedulers, physicians, nursing and other appropriate staff with scheduling, obtaining requisitions or pre-authorization, patient preparation instructions, and other exam-related communications. Performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensure cooperation, safety and satisfaction. 1 Is receptive to teaching newly -hired technologist as observed by supervisor or input from staff. 1 Must have achieved at least a successful rating in most recent performance appraisal. Overall Performance rating must be at least Fully Meets or Exceeds Expectations with no success factor falling below Fully Meets Expectations. Graduation from an A.M.A. Proficient in advanced Radiography CR/Digital imaging techniques, above average, knowledge of computer / Pacs applications, and good organizational and communication/customer service, skills.
