About the Employer The Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) is a public agency that provides academic services and enrichment opportunities for students, teachers and the community, as well as critical business services for school districts. NCOE partners with the five public school districts in Napa County on a variety of programs and issues. NCOE also operates numerous federal and state grants including a robust AmeriCorps program and state-wide projects supporting Special Education students. Job Summary The Partnerships for Effective Practices in Transition and Inclusion (PEPTI) Project provides personnel development in early intervention, early education, and transition services to improve results for young children with disabilities. We are looking for an individual who shares our vision of inclusion and collaboration. The Administrative Assistant I is the primary contact with the public and performs secretarial and administrative support duties, including (but not limited to) composing of routine documents, administration of office routines and systems, processing of financial transactions, and reception. Employees in this classification receive limited supervision within a broad framework of policies and procedures. This position is located in the NCOE Research and Professional Development Center (RPDC) in Petaluma. This Job reports to Assigned Supervisor Requirements / Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Pass an Online Literacy Test and an Excel Proficiency Test. • Demonstrate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and accessing common information from databases. • Human relation skills to work with a diverse population, exercise patience when dealing with internal and external customers, and convey technical concepts. • Skill in using various standard office machines, including personal computers with presentation graphics applications and the ability to coordinate projects requiring information from other sources. • Working knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment, including filing systems, and letter and report writing.
