We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Integration & Verification Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this role, you will work on a small team that is responsible for vehicle-level integration, calibration, and verification of Level 2-4 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Driving Systems (ADS) on PACCAR vehicle platforms. You'll work hands-on with premium light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks as you focus on delivering the best in-vehicle experience possible for our customers. The selected individual will work in a global, cross-divisional, and innovative team to develop and test “Best in Class” vehicle functions for North America.

Division Information
The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Execute vehicle-level testing on closed-courses and public roads to verify ADAS/ADS performance and functionality meets PACCAR requirements
Provide technical expertise and support to PACCAR divisions and suppliers on a wide variety of ADAS/ADS development topics including system integration, requirement reviews, failure mode analysis, ISO 26262 work products, and testing demands.
Calibrate and verify vehicle control algorithms on Autonomous Vehicle Platforms (AVP) in collaboration with autonomy partners
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for requirements verification and benchmarking activities
Troubleshoot and resolve integration and software defects discovered during testing
Translate customer requirements into software calibration data, system performance metrics, and configurations for the organization
Manage commissioning, instrumentation, and configuration of prototype vehicles and testing equipment
Identify opportunities and provide input for new initiatives to improve calibration and testing methods for higher efficiency and effectiveness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. hardware, software, testing) and external suppliers to integrate ADAS/ADS and ensure end-to-end functionality
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
Strong systems engineering background including experience interpreting and testing to requirements
Experience with vehicle data acquisition systems and test equipment (e.g. ATI Vision, Vector tool suite, soft targets, VBOX)
Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability and desire to obtain
Knowledge of vehicle and powertrain management systems and integration
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to travel up to 20%
Desired Qualifications
3+ years of experience with ADAS / ADS development, integration, or testing
Knowledge of vehicle perception sensors (e.g. camera, lidar, radar, ultrasonic) and lateral/longitudinal vehicle control actuators (e.g. torque control, steering, braking)
Proficiency in using a programming or scripting language (e.g. Python, C++, or MATLAB) for developing testing and data analysis scripts
Knowledge of diesel and electric powertrains on Class 5-8 vehicle applications
Knowledge of vehicle dynamics including tractor-trailer combinations
Understanding of ISO 26262 and ISO/PAS 21448
Experience with drive-by-wire systems and controls
Experience using software emulation tools to conduct testing
Good understanding of ADAS test protocols such as NCAP, ISO, IIHS, or NHTSA.
