The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking two general surgeons with fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care for full-time positions in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidates will provide acute care daytime emergency general surgery (EGS) coverage at CAMC Memorial Hospital. This will consist of a rotating schedule of one week of emergency general surgery coverage and one week of surgical critical care coverage. The EGS/consult coverage would be Monday-Friday from 7am-4pm. Night call expectation is three to four nights a month and is shared equally among the other general surgeons in the facility, with weekend call coverage of 1:7 to 1:8. No inhouse call is required. Limited amount of Level 1 Trauma call is available at our adjacent level one trauma center. Job Requirements by the time of appointment are:MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited programBoard certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and board certification or board eligibility in trauma/surgical critical care preferred.
