SM Follow-up of all outstanding A/R for all payers, including commercial payers, auto and other liability payers, workers compensation payers, and self-pay. The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for handling all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contacting insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability, and includes the ability to interpret and rectify denials. Responsible for working EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports. Ability to research and resolve accounts appearing on Delinquent Insurance Report, Collection Ledger and Government Payor report as directed by management making appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked on to maximize reimbursement. Schedule: This is an onsite position with the hours of Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm ET or 9:00am - 6:00pm ET. Location: The location address is 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady, NY 12308. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 2+ years work experience in healthcare setting, hospital 1+ year work experience in healthcare setting 1+ year of Accounts Receivable, insurance billing, processing and/or customer service experience 1+ year experience with reading and understanding Explanation of Benefits (EOB) 1+ year experience with insurance plans and coordination of benefits Basic knowledge of hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (including but not limited to Epic, Cerner, and/or Meditech) Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Teams Soft Skills: Ability to navigate payer portals and internet applications Organized, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, and able to work well with others New York City, NY Residents Only: The hourly range for New York City residents is $18.80 to $36.78 .
