Accounting Manager-Remote We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our clients dynamic team. As an Accounting Manager, you will be a key player in overseeing critical accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Leases (ASC 842), Inventory, and T&E. We would love to find an analytically minded Accountant turned analyst. Ideally the Accounting Manager will have started in public accounting or a traditional full cycle accounting role with strength in ASC842 but is naturally interested in data analytics and finance. This role is best suited for someone with great analytics skills and strong leadership experience. If you have experience with any advanced data analytics tools, that is a major plus! A company with a wonderful mission, dedicated to serving children with autism, as well as their families Opportunity to grow with the company and have a potential future exit Remote work within the state of Texas with light travel to Austin Transaction Bonuses $$$ Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager: Supervision and Mentorship: Lead, guide, and mentor a small team (with opportunity for growth). Monthly Close Management: Manage the monthly close tasks related to Fixed Assets, including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations for: Tenant reimbursement allowance Prepaid furniture (inventory in storage) Placing CIP in service as locations are opened M&A / Purchase Accounting ASC 842 Lease Compliance: Lead the maintenance of compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting standards. Oversee lease accounting transactions, disclosures, and reporting. Location Selection Process: Participate in the approval process for selecting new locations based on forecasted lease economics, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with lease administration and construction teams to optimize processes with landlords and general contractors. This includes managing tenant reimbursement allowances. Technical Accounting Considerations: Assess and document technical accounting considerations relevant to your areas of responsibility. Financial Forecasting and Analysis: Collaborate with the FP&A team to enhance CAPEX and OPEX forecast accuracy. Partner with expansion, procurement, and real estate teams to monitor variances, drive savings, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Vendor Relationships: Work closely with vendors to establish and maintain effective relationships. Negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely payments while optimizing expenses. Qualifications and Experience: 4-7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with experience in multi-site businesses. Public Industry mix preferred but not required ASC 842 Expertise: Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting standards is required. Familiarity with LeaseQuery or similar lease administration platforms is preferred. Experience with platform migration/implementation is a bonus. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Certification: CPA certification is preferred. Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, with a solid understanding of GAAP. Tech Stack: Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel. Data analytics tools a major plus (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc). #INSEP2023 #CBSEP2023
