JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Executive Lead, Supply Chain Operations & Resilience, the Logistics Manager is a true ambassador of SSW’s vision, mission and values. This role is accountable for managing the internal receiving processes, distribution of Just-In-Time inventory and maintenance of hospital supply rooms, adherence to hospital budget, management of special projects, and following the respective collective bargaining agreement as it applies to hospital staff. The Logistics Manager operates within the hospital environment and is the primary functional liaison between the hospital and SSW. LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT Has full oversight of Just-In-Time (Stockless) supply chain and hospital relationship with the 3PL provider. Ensures all logistics strategies and operations are aligned with the SSW and THP values. Leads daily/weekly huddles with logistics site supervisors to ensure customer/hospital priorities are being met. Builds a strong relationship with the THP Director of Operations, Stores and Supply Chain Management to ensure SSW alignment with the hospital initiatives. Ensures all customer service levels are maintained or improved, and that information is presented at the monthly SSW/THP meetings. Manages the escalation and follow up on critical backorders. In conjunction with Logistics Supervisors, ensure the annual Par-Review of JIT department supply carts is completed. Maintains and enhances the Meditech MM module related to the inventory, ensuring a high level of inventory accuracy. Oversees cycle counting, monthly and year-end inventory processes. In coordination with the Hospital Risk, THP Directors and SSW Director of Hospital Operations, sustains a pandemic supply strategy. Coordinates and participates in hospital on-call schedule with logistics supervisors. (Rotating every 4 weeks) Acts as a primary logistics contact and problem solver for emergencies, hospital codes, and pandemic response. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT Complies with all SSW / Trillium Health Partners Human Resources protocols and all regulatory bodies requirements, the Collective Agreement and accrediting agencies. Evaluates ongoing activities ensuring effective use of resources. Recruits, coaches, mentors, evaluates, and manages the performance and development of staff. Participates in Human Resource planning process, discipline and union-related activities. LEADERSHIP AND MANAGERIAL SKILLS Demonstrates and promotes SSW / Trillium Health Partners culture, values and management philosophy. Fosters a “Customer-Centric” culture within the department. PROGRAM QUALITY STANDARDS Ensures compliance with all Trillium Health Partners standards and Health regulatory agencies. Recommends implementation of new technologies and equipment and ensures that the safety and quality assurance standards have been attained. Fosters alliances and promotes networking to enhance knowledge and best practice trends for Logistics and Supply Chain. HEALTH AND SAFETY Performs his/her job according to safe work practices, following instructions and using the equipment provided. Actively participates in the Health and Safety Program by undergoing safety training/education. Ensures all required equipment and protective devices are used in the prescribed manner. Ensures that all incidents/accidents/hazardous conditions are investigated promptly, the reports are completed on time and submitted as required, and corrective actions are taken. Ensures employees participate in the Workplace Health and Safety training/education. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: College Diploma or University degree in business or supply chain-related field is an asset. CSCMP, P. Log or other supply chain-related designation is preferred. Minimum 5 years of management experience in a Supply Chain related field, preferably in a hospital environment. Experience in a unionized environment. Experience in implementing effective operational changes, continuous improvement or LEAN processes.
