Looking for LOCAL CANDIDATES (1)Registered Nurse (RN). Contractor RNs must be licensed professionals that deliver a broad range of nursing care in the context of disease or injury prevention, health promotion and restoration and health maintenance. The Contract RN delivers/demonstrates fundamental, knowledge-based care, while developing and increasing technical competencies to provide and plan nursing care for patients with simple or complex needs.(2)Mental Health RN. The Mental Health RN is a professional nurse who provides holistic approach to the care of the patients requiring mental health treatment in the inpatient Acute Psychiatric Units. The Mental Health RN will be responsible for the delivery of quality, age specific healthcare; for utilizing sound clinical judgement to ensure positive patient outcomes for Veterans. The RN assesses, plans, implements, supervises, teaches, evaluates, and documents patient care; serves as an integral member of the treatment team; and is responsible for helping to produce a therapeutic environment and plan of care to promote optimal health status. The Mental Health RN may provide periodic coverage for the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP(3)Specialty Care RN. The Specialty Care RN is a professional nurse who collaborates with multiple specialty care providers while performing nursing care, problem solves utilizing previous experience, and utilizes standards of care and standards of practice as a basis for decision making. He/she will be responsible for assessment and triage of all patients presenting for non-urgent care and prioritizes, organizes, and anticipates workflow to achieve optimal patient care outcomes. The Specialty Care RN may provide periodic coverage for the Telehealth Clinics. He/she will be expected to assist in all areas of Specialty Clinics, i.e., Podiatry, Neurology, Acupuncture, EMG, Physiatry, Chiropractic, Pain, Skin Procedures, Veteran Sick Call, and Employee Occupational Health.(4)Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) RN Care Coordinator. Outpatient/PACT Registered Nurse Care Coordinator is a professional nurse who provides holistic approach to the care of the patients requiring outpatient chronic disease management and health promotion/disease prevention. The PACT RN will be responsible for triage, preventative health screening, immunizations, medication management, crisis intervention, medical/physical and psychosocial assessments. The PACT RN may provide periodic coverage for the Mental Health Clinics located in the Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).(5)Geriatric & Extended Care RN. The Geriatric & Extended Care (GEC) RN is a professional nurse who provides holistic approach to the care of the patients within GEC service. The RN is accountable for the delivery of quality, age-specific healthcare; for utilizing critical thinking skills and sound clinical judgment to ensure positive patient outcomes; for demonstrating ethical practice; and for participating in performance improvement activities to improve the quality of care and ensure performance measures are met and/or exceeded. The incumbent assesses, plans, implements, supervises, teaches, evaluates, and documents patient care; serves as an integral member of the treatment team, and is responsible for helping to produce a therapeutic environment and plan of care to promote optimal health status.
