Position Summary
Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach assists in developing and implementing a strategic plan for the Athletic and Recreation departments that is consistent with the University Mission and strategic plan, as well as the Student Success Commitment. This position has oversight and administration of its' sport program; which includes staff development and evaluation, programming and resources related to student-athlete success and experiences, sport program evaluation and assessment, and effectively engaging the campus and community in athletic events and facilitating experiences within both for student-athletes. Additionally, this position assists in meeting all compliance and eligibility requirements for the University, the American Rivers Conference, and the NCAA; and promoting the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in practice planning, execution and on-court instruction
Assist in the collaboration with campus and community partners and athletic administration regarding facility use, upkeep, and resource management
Assist in developing and implementing game plans, reports, strategies and on-court duties as assigned
Assist in all phases of the recruiting process, specifically the scouting and evaluation of skilled and academically qualified student-athletes, the matriculation process of student-athletes (includes application, financial aid completion, housing registration, required paperwork, course registration, and orientation attendance), and the collaboration with campus partners regarding the communication processes required
Assist in monitoring academic progress of program athletes and serve as a program liaison for staff and faculty, and facilitate the utilization of resources to promote student success
Collaborate with campus partners and athletic department staff regarding the safety and well-being of student athletes
Assist in event management and game promotion/partnerships
Assist in camps, clinics, and workshops facilitated by sport program
Assist in effectively managing and reporting conduct related incidences within sport program
Effectively live and model the UD Mission and engage the campus and surrounding communities in a manner that allows for the retention and persistence of UD students
Collaborate with and serve the campus community
Facilitate educational opportunities and compliance to all University, ARC, and NCAA rules and regulations
Serve as a collaborative and valued team member within the athletic department
Serve as a Title IX Campus Security Authority
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; master degree preferred
Collegiate playing experience preferred
Previous coaching experience of at least 2 years; preferably at the college level
Competency and knowledge related to NCAA rules, policy, and procedures; or experience related to rules and regulations associated with athletics
Experience preparing, monitoring, and maintaining budget
Demonstrated commitment to addressing issues of diversity, inclusion, hospitality, and equity for a diverse student population and campus stakeholders
Appreciation for and ability to work within a collaborative campus community and the ability to assist in building collaborative alliances to serve students and the campus communities
